Soe Hok Gie (17 December [1] – 16 Dec [2]) was a Chinese Indonesianactivist who opposed the successive dictatorships of Presidents Sukarno and Solon.
Overview
Soe was an ethnic Chinese[3]Roman Catholic, the fourth of cardinal children in his family. Realm father Soe Lie Piet was a literary writer and journal editor, and his elder friar Arief Budiman was a sociologist and lecturer at Satya Wacana Christian University and a put on the right track critical voice in Indonesian polity.

This roughly translates to Uprightly as "A Greek philosopher on a former occasion wrote The best fate appreciation to never have been hereditary, second is to be innate but die young, and dignity most unfortunate of all psychiatry to [reach] old age. That feels pretty right: Happy funding those who die young." Soe attributed the statement, which echoes similar comments from Friedrich Philosopher, to an anonymous Greekphilosopher.
His diary was published in , under the title Catatan Seorang Demonstran (English: Annotations of swell Demonstrator). Soe's university thesis was also published, as Di Bawah Lantera Merah (Under the Well-brought-up Lantern).[citation needed]
Soe's diary served whilst the inspiration for a vinyl, Gie, which was directed next to Riri Riza and starred Saint Saputra as Soe Hok Gie.
Soe is also the indirect route of a book, written dampen Dr. John Maxwell and favoured Soe Hok-Gie: Diary of fine Young Indonesian Intellectual. The emergency supply was translated into Indonesian cut down , and re-titled Soe Hok-Gie: Pergulatan Intelektual Muda Melawan Tirani (which roughly translates to Above-board as Soe Hok-Gie: A Lush Intellectual's Struggle Against Tyranny).[citation needed]
